Splitters

Splitters are passive connectivity components used in process control applications to route signals or power from a single source to multiple devices. Typically Y-shaped or T-shaped, splitters allow one cordset or cable connection to be divided between two or more field devices, such as sensors or actuators, without the need for additional wiring back to the control cabinet.

These components are useful for simplifying field wiring, reducing installation time, and minimizing cable clutter. By allowing multiple devices to share a single connection path, splitters help lower material and labor costs while maintaining signal integrity. Their compact design and rugged construction make them suitable for harsh industrial environments, offering protection against vibration, moisture, and contamination.

Splitters are commonly used in industries such as manufacturing, material handling, food and beverage, packaging, and automotive production. Typical applications include connecting multiple sensors on a conveyor, distributing power to actuators in automated machinery, or grouping proximity sensors in a shared area—all without expanding panel wiring.

By enabling more efficient use of space and reducing wiring complexity, splitters contribute to streamlined system design and faster troubleshooting. Their plug-and-play functionality supports flexible and scalable automation solutions, making them an essential part of modern process control connectivity strategies.
