Automatic Switching Between Two Gas Cylinders
A gas cylinder changeover regulator ensures a continuous gas supply to a system by automatically switching between two gas cylinders or sources when one becomes depleted. It is commonly used in industrial, laboratory, and medical applications where an uninterrupted gas flow is critical.
The regulator is connected to two gas cylinders, typically a primary and a secondary. It monitors the pressure of the primary cylinder and switches to the secondary cylinder once the primary is exhausted or reaches a pre-set low-pressure threshold. The changeover mechanism is designed to provide a seamless transition from one cylinder to the other without interrupting the gas flow, minimizing the risk of process disruption or downtime. The changeover regulator incorporates a pressure regulator that maintains a consistent downstream pressure to the process equipment, regardless of the varying input pressures from the gas cylinders, and is equipped with pressure gauges for both cylinders, with the regulator allowing for easy monitoring of gas levels, enabling timely cylinder replacement.
Some models come with built-in alarms or indicators that notify the operator when the changeover occurs, or when a cylinder is empty, providing additional safety and efficiency. Gas cylinder changeover regulators are made from materials compatible with the type of gas being used (e.g., stainless steel for corrosive gases), ensuring safety, durability, and compliance with industry standards.
